The Chapel of Grace (Gnadenkapelle) is located in the church of the monastery and made of black marble. The Chapel is also home to the famous Black Madonna which dates back to the 15th century.

After a visit to the Monastery Church our tour begins with a ride through the Einsiedeln valley located in the heart of Central Switzerland. This valley is characterized by swamps and Lake Sihl, Switzerland’s largest reservoir. The landscape is beautiful and we continue following the shore of Lake Sihl, crossing  Devil’s Bridge and Etzel Pass, leading to a panoramic viewpoint above Lake Zurich. From there we drive through forests, fields, farms, always with Lake Zurich below us and the Alps in the background.

We move on, as we will be going all around the upper part of Lake Zurich to reach Rapperswil on the other side.

When we arrive in Rapperswil we go up to the castle to enjoy the view. Rapperswil really has southern charm with its lake promenade, the castle and many charming restaurants where we will enjoy an ice cream by the lake.
