FAQ

Are the bikes insured?

Yes, all the bikes we rent are already insured against damage and theft. Please note this insurance covers the bike only. You are responsible for your own travel and health insurance.

Should you bring your own bike, make sure you have full insurance coverage for it. We are not responsible for any damages caused on your own gear.

Can I bring my own Bike?

Yes! Feel free to bring your own gear to the tours. We will deduct the cost of the bike rental from the overall price. Just note that your gear insurance and transportation is on your own responsibility.

Should this be your decision, talk to us! It is important that your bike specifications are similar to the ones used on the tours.

How long in advance should I book my tour?

You can reserve your place at any time, depending on availability. The earlier the better for you not to miss your spot. It is our suggestion that you reserve your tour at least three months in advance.

How is the cancellation policy?

With a deposit of 10% of the total tour value until 90 days before the tour, your place is reserved.

Full payment should be made 90 days before the tour. If the full payment is not made, we have a right to cancel the reservation without refund of the initial deposit.

Should you decide to cancel, and if there is a waiting list, Bike in Switzerland will transfer your place to a different person of our choice and there will be an administrative charge of 100 Swiss Francs. If there is no waiting list for your place, we will apply the following refund policy:

1. Cancellation more than 90 days before Day One of the tour: The paid deposit minus an administrative charge of 100 Swiss Francs will be refunded.

2. Cancellation 61-90 days before Day One of the tour: The paid tour fees minus the amount for the initial deposit will be refunded.

3. Cancellation 31-60 days before Day One of the tour: 50% of the paid tour fee will be refunded.

4. Cancellation 30 days or less before Day One of the tour: No refund of the already paid tour fee.

Most of the trips we offer are itinerant, and since we know how important it is to ride light, each day, our car will transfer your luggage the following night’s accommodation. You’ll only carry your day bag (with water, camera, etc).

In Switzerland we say: there is no such think as bad weather. There are only inappropriate clothing.

We will check the possibility to ride with our luggage transport vehicle. In case this is not possible we will – at your cost – organize for an alternative transportation.

You won’t be the only one to walk certain sections and it’s not a competition in biking ability; it’s a mountain bike holiday!
